Eglin’s Outdoor Recreation program offers year-round outdoor fun and adventure in beautiful Northwest Florida. Facilities include the main Outdoor Recreation Center at Postl Point, Ben’s Lake Marina, RV Storage Lots. the base Pool, the Eglin Beach Park on Okaloosa Island, two Family Campgrounds.

The Outdoor Rec Center at Postl Point is the hub for all your outdoor programs. Nature outings and overnight adventure trips are scheduled all throughout the year, with opportunities for mountain biking, rock climbing, zip-lining, swimming with manatees, hiking, bouldering, deep sea fishing, and even skydiving!

Back on location here at Eglin, outdoor activities such as paddleboarding, kayaking, disc golf, archery, and paintballing are all facilitated for your enjoyment. Beginner’s clinics for most activities are available to those who are looking to try something new.

Outdoor Recreation’s rental operation houses a massive inventory of everything you need to enjoy the great outdoors. The ODR team provides Bennington pontoon boats, Robalo center-console boats for fishing, cargo trailers, utility trailers, towable grills and smokers, paddle boards, kayaks, canoes, pavilions, tables, chairs, camping equipment, key logs, cornhole boards, ice chests, water coolers, bounce houses and a large variety of games for your next event.

What is the seating capacity of our boats?

Center Console seats 4

Regular Pontoon seats 8-10

Double Decker seats 12-14

SeaDoo seats 6-8

Are there seats on the top deck of a Double Decker?

Yes, there are seats on the top deck but for safety reasons guests are not allowed to ride on top deck while boat is in motion.

Are the slides waterslides?

Yes, they are. They are equipped with “Turbo Pumps,” which easily deliver plenty of water to the slides. Boats must be anchored in at least chest-high water before anyone should use these slides. The deeper the water the better so you don’t hit the bottom.

Are life vests included?

Yes, we provide life vests for every member of your party renting one of our boats. We provide sizes infant – Adult XL Anyone operating or riding on our boats are required to wear an approved life jacket or PFD.

Does the rental price include gas?

Yes, all boats come with a full tank of gas. However, if you need additional gas, the rental party would be responsible for the cost of that fuel.

Can I fish off the boat?

No, we do not allow fishing from our pontoons. However, we do allow fishing from our center console’s.

Can I bring a pet on the boat?

No, we do not allow pets on the boats.

Can I pull a tube behind the boat?

The only boats that allowed tubers are our SeaDoo’s.  All other boats do not have a tow bar and are not allowed a pull behind tube for safety reasons.

How far are your docks from Crab Island?

Depending on speed, it may take 30-45 minutes from our dock to Crab Island.

Where can we not take the boats?

Are food and beverages allowed on the boats?

Yes, food, beverage, and alcohol are permitted, and we encourage you to drink responsibly. The captain must have a blood alcohol content less than 0.08% while operating the boat.

What is the age requirement?

The primary driver must be a least 21 years of age, have a valid driver’s license, and military ID.

What is your cancellation/refund policy?

Customers may cancel up to 24 hours before the start of your outing and will receive a full refund of your deposit or payment. If boat rental is cancelled within 24 hours of reservation, $200 rental deposit is non-refundable. If weather is unfavorable for boating, the reservation will be rescheduled for another time/day, or a full refund will be issued. However, once you have left the dock and are on the water, there is no refund if it begins to rain. No-shows will not be refunded.

What do I need to rent a boat?

You will need your Coast Guard approved Boaters Safety Card # to make a reservation (this will be the captain of the boat and responsible for the duration of the day). Please bring a copy of your Boaters Safety Card and you Military I.D. day of reservation for verification.

Can I pick up guests from another location?

No, all guests are required to be present at time of onboarding of vessel. Guests over the age of 18 will be asked to sign the Liability Release form agreeing to the rules and regulations when renting one of our boats. Boaters may not onboard guests from another location.

What time is the boat due back by?

All boats are due back one (1) hour before closing. A late fee of $50 for every 15 minutes will be applied for late charges.

How far in advance can I rent a boat?

Boats can be reserved up to 90 days for active duty and up to 60 days for retirees and civilians.
