For four decades, the Gate To Gate Memorial Run/Walk has been a cherished tradition at Eglin Air Force Base, a time for the community to come together to honor our nation’s fallen heroes. This year, on Saturday, May 16, we are proud to celebrate the 40th anniversary of this iconic event with a return to its historic roots and an exciting new addition to the post-race festivities.
A Return to Tradition
To mark this incredible milestone, the 40th Anniversary Gate To Gate Memorial Run/Walk will once again take participants on the original 4.4-mile course that started it all—a true “gate-to-gate” experience across the base. This journey is more than just a run; it’s a moving tribute to the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our freedoms. Whether you are a competitive runner striving for a personal best or a family walking in quiet reflection, your presence makes a powerful statement of remembrance and support.
A New Sound for a New Decade
This year, the 96th Force Support Squadron is thrilled to bring a new level of energy to the post-race celebration! We are excited to welcome Pensacola’s own Lex B Music to the stage at our after-party in the East Gate Sports Complex near the Field House Fitness Center. After you cross the finish line, refuel with complimentary food and drinks and enjoy the vibrant, soulful sounds of this talented local band. It’s the perfect way to celebrate your accomplishment and continue the day’s spirit of community and camaraderie.
