Are you PCSing to a new base? The Eglin Military & Family Readiness Center’s “Smooth Move” program is designed to assist members with a smooth transition to their gaining base. “Smooth Move” provides a handy checklist of moving tasks, plus links and information to help you and your family with finding a new home and getting to know the gaining base facilities and local area sites.

Eglin’s Military & Family Readiness Centers facilitates a monthly Newcomer Orientation, hosted at the Enlisted Heritage Hall (next to the Exchange). This in-person mandatory briefing is for all newly-arrived active duty Air Force members, with spouses also welcome and encouraged to attend. The orientation provides a welcoming introduction to the Team Eglin community, with remarks from Eglin’s senior leadership, and informative presentations provided by several of Eglin’s helping agencies and organizations.

Sponsorship serves as the foundation for newcomers to feel connected, welcomed, and at ease during their PCS. Becoming a “Team Eglin” sponsor is an opportunity to connect with incoming active duty military members or DoD civilians as they transition to Eglin AFB and its surrounding community. Sponsor training is available online through Military OneSource:
