Throwback Thursdays: Unearth Your Family History

Ever wondered about the people who came before you? Join the Eglin Community Library on March 26 from 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. for a special family-history edition of Throwback Thursdays with this hands-on ancestry workshop designed specifically for school age kids and homeschool groups. The librarians’ will explain genealogical research and record keeping and conduct activities including:

– Build your very own family tree from scratch.
– Learn how to conduct a “family interview.”
– Learning the basics of databases such as FamilySeach, Ancestry, and Fold 3.
– Discover old handwriting and census techniques through a “Guess the Name” game.

No registration is required. All supplies needed will be provided by the library, but patrons are welcome to bring laptops or other personal devices.
