Let’s get our STEM on! \nSTEM Stations: \nTwilight Bloom: Learn how some flowers have adapted to bloom at night\, then make your own spinning decotrope that shows the science in action! \nNightlight Flight: Explore how nocturnal pollinators like moths and bats help flowers grow by tossing your pollinator onto blooming targets in this fluttering flight challenge. \nWildflower Seed Bombs: Get your hands dirty crafting nutrient-packed\, native wildflower seed bombs to take home and help make your corner of the world a more colorful place. \nPollination Journey: Using our Bee-Bot robots\, students get to explore what makes pollination so important by taking the bee-bot along its pollination journey. \nSprout Scout Explore: Explore the amazing life of plants from tiny seeds to full-grown greenery! DESCRIPTION:Wind down and carve out some space for creativity and calm at the Eglin Community Library’s newest program: The Open Journal. This monthly evening of journaling for adults and teens takes place every 3rd Monday of the month\, and during the months of June and July\, will be a part of the library’s Summer Reading Program on June 15 and July 20 from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. \nAn optional prompt will be presented\, but everyone is free to write\, draw\, collage\, plan\, reflect\, optimize\, and experiment! All journaling styles are welcome. The library provides supplies – you show up and get creating. Once a week on select Tuesdays during the Summer Reading Program\, teen volunteers will assist library staff with essential preparations for the SRP\, ranging from creating vibrant decorations to assembling materials for upcoming crafts. This volunteer program is designed specifically for teens who want to earn service hours while supporting their community. \nEach session is capped at 5 participants.
